Beyond our Community Acupuncture clinic here in Rochester, a growing number of similarly structured clinics have launched across the US and abroad through the efforts of Community Acupuncture Network (CAN) and its new spin-off organization, People’s Organization of Community Acupuncture (POCA) - a multi-stakeholder cooperative of which RCAis a proud Clinic member.
Our friends at Philadelphia Community Acupuncture offer a terrific introduction to what POCA is and why it may matter a helluva lot to you. We encourage you to read through here. If we were to try to summarize in one sentence it's this: if affordable Community Acupuncture is to made available for thousands of more communities across this country and beyond, the resources and skills of acupuncturists, patients and others are going to be needed to do so. POCA creates the structure to make this happen.
